Although Sarah has always loved playing all kinds of music, she is best known for her dedication to contemporary music.
She was and is responsible for the debut of several works by contemporary composers as a soloist and in collaboration with groups from the United States, Europe and Brazil.
In 2018 Sarah was the creator and soloist of the Latin American premiere of Salvatore Sciarrino 's monumental sound sculpture, Cutting the Circle of Sounds , composed for 4 soloists and 100 "migrant" flutes. The concert was held in the foyer of Sala São Paulo, with the participation of flutists from the community including students from the two schools where she works as a teacher: the School of Music of the State of São Paulo - EMESP Tom Jobim and at the State University of São Paulo - UNESP.
Among the groups with which she has collaborated, the Kammerensemble Neue Musik Berlin (Germany), the Ensemble Remix (Portugal) and the Manhattan Contemporary Ensemble (USA) stand out on the international scene. In Brazil, she works with groups such as Camerata Aberta , Ensemble Música Nova and Camerata Latino-Americana .
She has a bachelor's degree in flute from the University of Wisconsin (USA) and a Master's in Orchestral Performance from the Manhattan School of Music (USA), and a diploma in Historical Performance Practice from the Frankfurt Hochschule (Germany). She holds a PhD in Music from the Campinas State University -UNICAMP, under the guidance of Silvio Ferraz with a project on the work of Brazilian composer Arthur Kampela.
